MUMBAI PROJECT

(Female Only) *position is available immediately (minimum one-year commitment)

We are looking for candidates to join our highly sensitive Mumbai Project.  This team goes into brothels five days a week—building relationships with women and girls through teaching basic education, medical clinics, prayer meetings, etc.  This team is responsible for identifying leads, and collecting data and background information in order to help facilitate rescues.  Other responsibilities include partnering and strategizing with outside organizations to orchestrate rescue efforts and aftercare placement.  The brothel team will be working with Rahab’s Rope staff in other areas of India to strategize, assess programming, and share resources.  Team members will also maintain regular communication with Rahab’s Rope stateside Directors and will work directly under the Director of Mumbai.  Candidates will be required to raise their own support.

The ideal candidate is a woman over thirty that is mature, resilient, and has a heart to see God bring freedom to women held in the bondage of human trafficking.   Candidate should be confident and tough—not easily flustered in the midst of difficult or even dangerous situations.  Candidate should have a good poker face and a lack of fear in getting around independently.   Candidate should have a desire to teach (basic education and Bible) and an ability to counsel by recognizing struggles and responding to women one on one. Candidate should be able to target specific needs and find resources to address accordingly.  Candidate must be able to meet the physical demands of walking long distances, working in very hot temperatures, and carrying heavy packages.  Due to the intense nature of the environment, candidate should have a strong faith and be prepared to work in a heavy spiritual atmosphere.
A background in investigations, medicine, counseling, or social work is a huge plus.  Preference will be shown to those with previous experience working in a cross-cultural setting or in anti-trafficking.
