Rahab’s
Rope Women’s Center is a place that provides food, shelter and
protection; a place of education and training; a place where the whole
person is ministered to spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally,
socially and financially. It is a place of hope, a place of transformed
lives.
In January of 2004 I came across a story on the internet about women in India that got my attention and broke my heart. The story told how everyday in India about two hundred girls and women are forced into the commercial sex trade. I had previously visited India several times working with missionary friends in an orphanage and Bible college and had never heard this story. I began to search for more information and learned that every year over four million women and children around the world are trafficked into prostitution and slave labor. I had no idea and the more I searched the more atrocity I found. I could not get out of my mind this newfound knowledge and questioned God, "why isn’t someone doing something about this?" As usual, when we ask, He replies, "I would like for you to do something". I had an upcoming trip planned for May of 2004 and with my new direction came new plans for the trip. We set up meetings in a couple of different cities and sought God. He led us to Bangalore, India and the process began. In December of 2004 we held our 1st Annual Christmas Celebration to introduce Rahab’s Rope to a group of women that had been used and abused for most of their lives and saw no sign of hope. We had 100 women in attendance on that first Celebration day which started us down an incredible journey. Please join us as we seek Him!
Blessings to You – In His Amazing Grace

Our Mission
The mission of Rahab’s Rope is to give hope and opportunity to women and girls that have been forced into the commercial sex trade of India by providing a safe and loving environment that will enable them to grow and develop both physically and spiritually.
Our Vision
Our vision is to see lives transformed by God’s love in action, to reveal His love in a way they can see, understand and respond to in faith. We see this transformation as a process through meeting emotional and physical needs by nurturing them in God’s love and faith. And then disciple them and provide training in vocational skills and education so they may re-enter their communities in a positive and contributing way. And finally to see them reach out and multiply.
Our Name
We believe nothing happens in our lives by chance and timing is God appointed. As God was opening our eyes to the women in crisis in India I was also taking a Biblical Studies class called Old Testament Survey and was to the book of Joshua and the story of Rahab. As I studied about Rahab the writer discussed the belief that Rahab made the rope in the story. If you remember Rahab hid the spies under a plant called flax. The finer parts of flax were used to make linens and the rest to make rope. Considering Rahab had enough to cover and hid two men we can assume she had it there to make something including the rope. Because the rope in the story represents Rahab’s rescue both physically and spiritually it seemed fitting for Rahab’s Rope to be our name. Just as the rope Rahab made represented her rescue our hope is that the skills taught to the women at the center will represent their rescue both physically and spiritually.
WHAT WE BELIEVE
We believe God loves you and wants you to personally know Him.
"God so loved the world, that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish, but have eternal life." John 3:16
We believe that all scripture is “God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe that Jesus Christ is “the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6)
We believe that “salvation is found in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given to man by which we must be saved.” (Acts 4:12 )
We believe “if we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.” (1 John 1:8)
We believe “if we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:9)
We believe “that if you confess with your mouth, “Jesus is Lord,” and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you believe and are justified and it is with your mouth you confess and are saved.” for “Everyone, who calls upon the name of the Lord will be saved.” Rom. 10:9-10 & 13
