Rahab’s Rope founder, Vicki Moore, just returned from the Geneva (Switzerland) Forum of the NGO Committee on the Status of Women, an advisory committee to the UN. This was her first year attending the Geneva Forum, but has attended the forum in New York the previous two years as a guest of Dr. Elaine Wolfson.

A 10-year-old Indian girl was raped by four minors on June 16 and was admitted to a hospital in India under critical condition until her death this past Tuesday.

Our founder, Vicki Moore, was recently invited to be a delegate at the United Nations for the 57th session of the ‘Commission on the Status of Women.’ This was a tremendous honor, and a wonderful opportunity to share with the world what we do at Rahab’s Rope. Vicki stated on her experience, “It was an encouragement for me to see inside the United Nations, and watch as topics were discussed, and policies considered for countries to make advancement towards ending violence against women. Until laws against perpetrators are enforced by our governments the violence will not end."

...Upon discovering Leena's situation, Rahab's Rope staff promptly rescued and placed her in a safe home, away from the abuse and threat of being prostituted that she has faced. And although saddened to see her daughter go, Leena's mother has been supportive. When initially asked about her daughter through a translator, her mother remarked: “Please. Take her [my daughter] somewhere, I don't want her to end up with the life that I have."
