Rahab's Rope Update

Dear Friends,

Thank you all so much for your continued support, I am convinced that because of your prayers God has propelled the ministry of Rahab's Rope. So much is happening I can barely keep up. The store in Maysville is going well, come see us if you have't already! We have been given many opportunities to speak about the ministry. If you know of anyone that would like to hear about the ministry please have them call. Our website is currently down as we are making improvements, hopefully the new site will be up soon. The dates for our Dec. Christmas Celebration are Dec. 8 - 18, I will be sending details out in the next few days in case you would like to go.

The Dass family is finally well, thank you for lifting them up in prayer. Jade Blanchard from Texas, that has been helping us since the first of the year, is now leaving Bangalore. She has been such a blessing. She has been instrumental in organizing and implementing structured sewing classes for the ladies. Last I heard the ladies have completed about 70 small purses, complete with beading, and they are ready to ship them to me. This is so exciting! As the ladies are completing their tailoring classes, they can begin to get paid for the work they do which will allow them to earn a living without selling their bodies. Thank you to all who helped with the sewing machines and all the necessary tools and supplies. It would not have happened without your support.

You remember Jyothi from my last letter, you will be glad to know her family has taken her home with them to care for her. Please continue to lift her in prayer and that God will continue to speak to her as only He can and that we can continue to minister to her. Pray for our staff and field workers as they are developing ways to work with our AIDS victims.

Currently, we have someone with a Masters in Social Work and a Law degree, that has worked with the csw's for the last ten years, putting together a proposal on what it will take, socially as well as financially, to develop a community and set it up similar to our current facility as far as rules and guidelines. We have so many women that want to come and live at Rahab's Rope but can't because of family members that live with them or because of having AIDS. By developing a community we will be able to reach more women and impact their entire family as well as have a loving, caring Christian environment for our girls with AIDS. We will always have a need for a main facility for many reasons. Please pray for wisdom as we work through this process. This will be a great undertaking for us this year and will only happen because of His touch and favor. I am praying the proposal will be ready for review when I go to India in June.

From the beginning of Rahab's Rope, the vision God gave was to bring hope and transform lives by ministering to the whole person, spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally, socially and financially. I think I am just beginning to see what that looks like and what it is going to take. In the last few months God has brought so many different people with many different gifts and talents in contact with us to help meet the different needs of the whole person. Please pray for us as we all work through exactly how it is God would have each one to be a part. We have people working on an education program for the ladies, fundraising, marketing, artisans, etc. To those who have contacted us, thank you for listening, hearing and responding to God concerning the women of Rahab's Rope.

I will be in India is June. I am so excited, God has brought us a wonderful Christian artist in jewelry and metal works, Patty Callaway. Patty is going to work with the ladies at Rahab's Rope in discovering whom God has imparted similar gifts and talents. Patty's work is incredible and I can't wait to see how God is going to use her to impact our ladies. Melissa Wethington is going with us to help our ladies desgin some new bags, hopefully developing our own line. As we begin to move forward with developing the ladies talents, God has brought Eric Johnson and Chelsea Golden to help promote the ministry and market the talents of the ladies. We are not sure what all of this means yet but we see God painting the picture for us. Pray as we move forward and seek Him.

It has been so amazing the last two years watching God paint this beautiful picture that is appearing before us. I stand in awe of Him and His handiwork. I am so blessed and honored to be included in reaching a group of women that a society considers disposable but Jesus loves so much He gave His life for them.

We are so blessed to have each one of you as part of this work and are so grateful. Please continue to pray for us as we seek Him and His plan for the women of Rahab's Rope.
