2015 marks the 8th anniversary of our Georgia retail store. Since its founding in 2006, the store has moved locations four times with our newest (and likely final!) location on the Gainesville Square at:
118 Wahington St SW Gainesville, GA 30501
With 3,500 square feet of retail space, we've added dozens of new products, including coffee and chocolate from Africa and Central America, pottery from Morocco, and olive wood items from Jordan.
If you are in the Greater Atlanta area, please make it a point to stop by the store. We want to meet you, answer your questions, and share even more about our heart and mission for rescuing victims of human trafficking.
Why have a store?
Our store is an important part of who we are. It is an outlet to sell products made by the women of Rahab's Rope in India, and it provides significant funding for the entire organization. It also serves as a place of ministry in the United States. In short, it is the perfect merging point for the various components of Rahab's Rope.
What will I find?
We carry a wide variety of merchandise including products made by the women of Rahab's Rope in India as well as a variety of fair trade products made in the US and internationally.
According to the Fairtrade Foundation,
"Fairtrade is about better prices, decent working conditions, local sustainability, and fair terms of trade for farmers and workers in the developing world. By requiring companies to pay sustainable prices (which must never fall lower than the market price), Fairtrade addresses the injustices of conventional trade, which traditionally discriminates against the poorest, weakest producers. It enables them to improve their position and have more control over their lives."
Where can I find you?
We are located at 118 Washington Street NW, Gainesville, GA 30501. Gainesville is located approximately one hour northeast of Atlanta, GA, 45 minutes northwest of Athens, GA, and approximately 35 minutes from the Blue Ridge mountain range. Once on the downtown Gainesville square, we are on the corner of Washington St and Main St. Look for our ever-changing window displays - you can't miss us!
When are you open?
We are open Monday - Thursday, from 10 am to 6 pm and Friday - Saturday, from 10am - 7pm.
Can I work in the Store?
Many of our store staff are volunteers or interns. If you live in the Greater Atlanta area and are interested in volunteering in our store, we would love to meet and talk to you further about our various volunteer options.
